The plainpicture collection offers different licensing options according to your needs – rights managed (RM) and royalty free (RF).
Rights Managed
Rights managed images offer the opportunity to license images for individual use. The usage fee is calculated according to the image use depending on media, image size, placement, territory, language and duration. Rights managed imagery gives you the option to check on the sales history of an image. The images can be licensed for exclusive use within an industry, a media or a territory.
Royalty Free
Royalty free images are licensed independent from media, image size, placement, territory, language or duration. Fees to use a royalty free image are based on the requested file size. Fees to all available file sizes can be found online attached to the requested plainpicture RF image. The licensee obtains the rights to unlimited use of this image. The image rights are not transferrable to other end users or third parties.
Model and property release (MR / PR)
You can find the model / property release status to all plainpicture images online attached to the individual image. Model release: Yes – written release to the shown individuals is available. Model release: No – written release to the shown individuals is not available or necessary for this image. Although images showing people are available with according model release, it is prohibited to use these images in an explicit, negative or defamatory way. Not only but in particular publications in relation to alcohol, drugs, illness, sexuality or political context will need individual clearance. Please contact us for help on sensitive subject releases.
Prices
plainpicture low res images for internal layout presentation are available without license fees. You can register on plainpicture.com to download plainpicture layout images without a watermark. All other publication and commercial image uses need prior clearance and licensing through plainpicture. License fees apply to all plainpicture images.
